THERE’S a new acoustic guitar amp from the people who are the best at making these things – the Alpha plus from AER, the German company that’s been turning out state-of-the-art acoustic amplification for years.

The Alpha plus incorporates some of the winning features of its predecessor, while the power stage has been enhanced to 50 watts, and the cabinet is roomier and more rugged.

Two high-impedance inputs, one of them also accommodating line-level signals, are married to a proprietary EQ circuit, and onboard digital reverb. Outputs are provided for headphones, line and DI, with an effects loop and footswitch input in the equation as well. The grille is now metal, and not foam, thus ensuring the amps stands up to rugged use.

Rachel Henry Profile:

Rachel Darshini Henry is a multitalented singer/songwriter/performer of Irish-Indian descent. Born on the 1st November 1990, she discovered her love for music at the tender age of 9. Her musical abilities include singing, playing the piano, the recorder and the flute. She started performing for her school orchestra and caught the attention of her music teachers.
At the age of 14, Rachel moved to Brisbane, Australia where her passion for music grew. S
Along the way, she discovered the art of acting and began performing in school plays and dramas. In 2007, her focus shifted back to music as she began to perfect a song she had written entitled She Waits.
This song was written and composed under her creative direction with the help of several other musicians. Blending her soothing, almost hypnotic voice with an equally calming yet mysterious melody, She Waits displayed all the signs of a unique artist’s work.
Rachel returned to Malaysia in late 2008 after having finished her high school diploma. Armed with She Waits on demo, it was clear that she wouldn’t have to wait much longer before someone noticed her talent.
Early this year, Rachel Henry met Malaysian mega-artist Reshmonu. Impressed by her raw talent, he signed her up as an artist under his digital record label, R-Records. She Waits is her first single and she hopes to release more songs in the future.
Apart from music, Rachel also takes center stage as a cast member of this year’s T4YP (Theatre for Young People). She will be performing throughout 2009 at various venues including KLPAC.

The Jekyll Overdrive channel accurately reproduces the sound of the TS-808 Tubescreamer, but with a Bass Boost switch and far more output volume than the original TS-808, this Overdrive far surpasses its predecessor. The Hyde side is more than just a turbo version of Jekyll! With a heavier distortion and more bottom end, this crazy Distortion pedal is extremely versatile!
